Abstract

Karo Regency is a regency that is visited by many people who want to vacation to see and feel the beauty of Lake Toba. Based on the data and information that has been collected by the Culture and Tourism Office of North Sumatra Province from their official website, there are 10 (ten) star hotels in Karo district. It takes about five hours directly and there is only one access that can be used, resulting in a decrease in total tourist visits to Karo district compared to other locations closer to Lake Toba. Therefore, because the location is not too strategic from the area to Lake Toba, the accommodation service manager in Karo district must of course have to think of some effective and accurate tactics and strategies in order to make tourists choose their accommodation location when they visit. Taman Simalem Resort, located in Karo district, is one of the most famous four-star hotels in North Sumatra. This resort has a total area of ​​206 ha and is shaded by PT. Indah Lestari Brand. Even though until now, the development stage is still running in some of the resort areas. However, the tourists who come have been visited and enjoyed by domestic or foreign tourists during their holidays at resorts that have the concept of agro-tourism. Based on this background, the author has an interest in researching and knowing the digital marketing strategy applied by one of the famous hotels in North Sumatra province to increase the number of guests at the hotel.
